The CSU music department presents, “Keyboard Conversations,” with Jeffrey Siegel, Sunday, March 9 at 4 p.m. in Waetjen Auditorium at the Music and Communication building. Continuing Ed offers test prep

The Division of Continuing Education is offering test preparation courses for GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), and LSAT (Law School Admission Test). Classes are held over four Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cole Center for Continuing Education, 3100 Chester Ave. GMAT prep courses begin March 15, and LSAT prep courses begin May 3 to prepare candidates for the June LSAT exam.

CSU prof presents exhibit

CSU professor Walter Leedy Jr. will present a slide show and lecture on “The Power of Postcards,” Sunday, March 16 at 3 p.m., at Dunham Tavern Barn (part of Dunham Tavern Museum), 6709 Euclid Ave.

His talk, which will feature many selections from his well-known Cleveland postcard collection, and historical photographs of Euclid Avenue, is part of the new exhibit “Streetscape…Euclid Avenue from Square to Circle,” which is part of an Ohio Bicentennial Event. Also presented at the exhibit are works of photographer Thom Sheridan.

Streetscape, which opened March 2, will run through April 30. Hours for the museum are Sundays and Wednesdays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Students display art

CSU department of student life is accepting submissions for 2003 Black Aspirations Student Art Exhibit, which will feature graphic art, fine art, performance art, and poetry. Submissions should be relevant to the Black Aspirations theme of SANKOFA, and are due by March 27, in UC 102. Top prize for each category is $50.

The art exhibit is Monday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Performance art is 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., both in UC cage.

Sociology hosts lecture and dinner

The Butler A. Jones Endowed Lecture Series and the CSU department of Sociology presents “Race, Class and Change in the Urban Community”. The lecture will feature Dr. Elijah Anderson, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, at the CSU Convocation Center, 4th floor, Thursday, April 3 at 5 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit The Butler A. Jones Endowed Lecture Series. Tickets start at $50. RSVP by March 24 at (216)-687-4500.

Cleveland Play House hosts play

A performance of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," to benefit the CSU Theatre Arts Area is Tuesday, April 1 at 8 p.m., at the Cleveland Play House. For more information, reservations, or tickets call the Theater Arts office (216)-687-2113 or stop by TA 204.

CSU hosts stress workshops

CSU Student Affairs and Minority Affairs Counseling Center will have a six-week workshop on stress management. The sessions will be held Tuesdays at 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. in UC 254B until April 1. The workshops have open attendance and don't require advance registration.
