The Department of Student Life is sponsoring the 11th annual Chili Challenge on Feb. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Center Cage. All proceeds go to The Cool for Kids Detroit-Shoreway Youth Club.

Forum for Muslim health care to be held

CSU Department of Health Services presents “Meaningful Dialogue: Communicating about Muslim Culture and Health,” Sat., Feb. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in UC 364. The keynote speaker is Tayyibah Taylor, editor-in-chief of Azizah Magazine.

Human Resources moving to first floor of Fenn temporarily

Some of the CSU Human Resources Development and Labor Relations office is temporarily moving to the first floor of Fenn Tower until further notice because of building repairs. The phone numbers remain the same. All visitors check in at the HR receptionist area located in FT 102.

Chamber Symphony Concert scheduled for Monday

CSU Chamber Symphony presents “Cleveland Composers” Mon., Feb. 24, at 8 p.m. in the Music and Communication building’s Drinko Recital Hall. The concert will feature the music of four Cleveland area composers. Free and open to the public.

Newborns in need seeks helpers

Newborns in Need of Northeast Ohio are a non-profit organization dedicated in helping newborns and infants in need. They are in need of volunteers. If you crochet or sew baby items, and would like to donate items to the organization, the website is www.newbornsinneed.org/neohio.

CSU outlines Mexican study program

Cleveland State is offering students a chance to travel to Mexico this summer and learn the Mexican culture and language. Students will stay in the “City of Eternal Spring,” Cuernavaca, which is about 50 miles southwest of Mexico City. An application and a $200 down payment must be sent to Tamula Drumm at the Center for International Services and Programs by Feb. 21. The fee will be refunded to students not selected for the program. The approximate cost of the trip is $2,370 and students must have a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 to be eligible. Submissions for Whiskey Island needed

“Whiskey Island,” Cleveland State’s literary magazine, is accepting submissions of creative work from writers and artists for its upcoming issue. Submissions of prose, poetry and art are accepted from Sept. 1 through April 1 of each year. CSU students have published “Whiskey Island” for more than 30 years. Gospel Choir of CSU holds concert

"Messengers of Joy Gospel Choir of CSU" invites students to join its rehearsals on Saturday's from 2 to 4 p.m. in Music and Communication Building Room 311. The "Gospel Explosion," which includes various high schools, churches and colleges, will be performing in the Main Classroom Building for free March 21 at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Jennifer at (216) 851-2092.
