Musical program features Siegal
The CSU Art Gallery will present the CSU Women’s Art Invitational By and About Women 2002, opening Feb. 25 and running through March 15 in Gallery C. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours for this exhibit are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information, please call the Women’s comprehensive Program at 216-687-4674.
Musical program features Siegal The music enrichment program presents “The Romantic Ballade,” the third concert of the 2001-2002 season of the Kulas Series of Keyboard Conversations featuring renowned pianist Jeffrey Siegal on Sunday, February 24 at 4:00 p.m. The concert will be held in Waetjen auditorium in the Music and Communication Building. Tickets for the February 24 concert are $20 per adult and $5 per student. A special family pass for two adults and two students is just $40. To reserve tickets, call 216-687-5022. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
The wellness center is sponsoring a Stress Free Zone in the UC Kiva, Tuesday, Feb. 26, from noon to 1 p.m.
A Law School Blood Drive to benefit the Red Cross of Greater Cleveland will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the garden level of the Law School on Feb. 27.
CSU’s tribute to women is just around the corner. This year’s event will be held Thursday, April 18 at 4 p.m. in Music and Communication Building room G15. In the meantime questions should be directed to the Women’s Comprehensive Program: ext. 4674.
Free HIV test available on Mondays Free HIV testing and counseling is now provided every Monday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. by theUniversity Health Services at the University Center in Room 108. No appointment is necessary and testing is quick, easy and painless. An oral swab is used instead of a needle. College students could be exposed to the AIDS virus if they engage in behaviors that put them at risk. About 25 percent of all AIDS cases occur among people 20 to 29 years of age. The English Department will host a guest lecturer who will speak on medievel English on March 6, at 3 p.m. in the Main Classroom, room 208. Jennifer Bryan, assistant professor of English at Oberlin College, will speak on “Pricked by Love: Eroticism and Discipline in Middle English Passion Meditations.” The event will be of particular interest to medieval English students. Little sibs visit this weekend Viking Hall will host its third annual Little Sibs Weekend on Feb. 22 to 24. Activities begin with registration from 7 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 22. Events planned include a pizza party, trip to the rainforest at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, a billiards tournament, a Play Station tournament and a magic show. A $10 registration fee will cover all meals, snacks and programs. (By Suzie Kubiak)
