Dates need correction in Bulletin

Add/drop dates for summer 2001 are incorrect in the printed Course Bulletin. The correct dates are posted on the Registrar's Website at www.csuohio.edu/Registrars. Once at the homepage, go to the 'Academic calendar' page, then to summer Add/Drop/withdrawal dates for correct information.

Scholarship applicants sought

The Annual Plain Dealer Human Relations Endowed Scholarship is offering two $1,000 scholarships for the 2000-2001 academic year, to be used to cover education expenses at CSU. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize student effort by advocacy and deed that has resulted in enhanced human relations at Cleveland State University or the Greater Cleveland community.

Applicants for the award must be juniors or seniors by the next fall semester with a cumulative grade point average of 2.75. Applications must be submitted to the Office of Minority Affairs and Community Relations, University Center, Room 303G, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27.

Applicants must submit a personal essay, which includes evidence describing their contribution to improved human relations and two letters of recommendation. To obtain an application or for information, call Louis Brownlowe at 687-2594.

Awards available for Latinos

The National Society of Hispanic MBA and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund have begun a partnership to provide financial resources to outstanding Latino students pursuing graduate degrees in management or business. Awards will range from $2,500 to $5,000, with one student receiving a $10,000 scholarship.

Scholarships will be awarded to full or part-time management or business graduate students for the 2001-2002 academic year. Scholarship applications may be obtained at www.nshmba.org or by sending a self-addressed, stamped, business-sized envelope to NSHMBA-HSF Scholarship Program, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, One Sansome St., Suite 1000, San Francisco, CA 94104. The application deadline is July 2.

Workshops open for beginner writers

Cleveland State will host Imagination 2 Workshops, a series of workshops for beginner writers. The workshops will cover fiction, poetry and memoir writing and will be led by local poets, writers, and CSU instructors.

The workshops will take place on four Saturday mornings, April 28, May 5, May 12 and May 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Work shop locations are Mac's Backs Paperbacks in Cleveland Heights, Dead Horse Gallery in Lakewood, Cuyohoga County Public Library Independence Branch, and Cleveland State University Library. Tuition is $49 and will cover all four sessions. Some tuition grants are available. To register or for more information, call 398-8226.

Pulitzer Prize winner comes to CSU

CSU's Theatre Arts area will present "Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley on April 27, 28 and 29 and May 4, 5 and 6. The play will be directed by Allen Byrne, a Cleveland State alumnus and professional actor and director. Curtain time is 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays at the Factory Theatre located at the corner of East 24th Street and Chester Avenue.

"Crimes of the Heart," the winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, looks at the plight of three Mississippi sisters trapped by their passions. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students. For tickets or more information, call 687-2109.
