He was captured in the Music and Communication Building. The suspect was arrested at CSU previously for trespassing charges.

Two men were arrested after they were spotted shoplifting at the bookstore on March 28. Officers detained two men after they entered bathroom stalls in an attempt to avoid CSUPD. A bookstore employee identified the two men, one who acted as a look out and the other who stole two books.

Lt. placed in charge of prevention

Cleveland State University has decided to increase campus awareness of crime prevention by placing Lt. Kathleen Price in a position to increase campus security.

Price will report directly to Roy Ray, vice president of finance and administrations. Ray said the idea for Price’s new position came about after he noticed that some campus incidences could be avoided if people were more aware of their security.

Ray said, “Kathleen’s new duties are really initiated in order to try to raise visibility in regards to all of us on campus taking more of a personnel responsibility for safety.”

Ray said that her duties include several important functions in her new position. She will advise student organizations about campus safety. She is in charge of building security issues and will run the community escort service. Price also directs patrols in the parking lots to provide more visible security. Finally, she will prepare proposals for drug and alcohol treatments.

One of the most important functions she will have is to act as a resource for everyone on the campus, Ray said.

Ray said that the move was made after he had consulted Police Chief Lester Mitchell.
