Springer visits CSU campus

Talk Show host and former Cincinnati Mayor, Jerry Springer will attend the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law legislation forum in which local, state and national figures will debate issues and discuss careers.

Springer will be a key presenter at "Legislation and the Public Interest: Who Protects It?" a free student-organized public conference from noon to 5 p.m. on March 30. Other panelists will discuss "Careers in Public Service," "The Tension Between Public and Private Interests in Legislation," and "Campaign Finance: How does it really work?"

The League of Women Voters will provide voter registration services throughout the forum and many public interest organizations will have booths in the atrium of the law school. For more information, contact Ann Vaughn at 687-2048.

MBA open houses set for April

CSU will host four MBA open houses in four different locations throughout Greater Cleveland in which students can learn how they can earn a fully accredited MBA from Cleveland State's College of Business Administration.

Open house dates are April 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Beachwood, I-271 at Chagrin Blvd; April 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cleveland Airport Marriott Hotel, I-71 and West 150th Street; April 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at the CSU College of Business Administration 1860 East 18th Street, Room BU 101, and May 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Independence, I-77 and Rockside Road.

Native American Day explores issues

Native American Heritage Day, sponsored by the Office of Minority Affairs and Community Relations, will be held March 30, from 11 to 12:30 p.m. in UC 364. This year's program includes a showing of the video, "In Whose Honor," which portrays one woman's battle to change her university's mascot while exploring the realities of using Native American images as college and professional sports teams, mascots and logos. Law Program scheduled for March 29

Cleveland-Marshall College of Law will present a lecture featuring University of Michigan Law Professor Douglas A. Kahn, titled "Tyranny of Words or Tyranny of Judges: A Hobson's Choice? The Principles of Statutory Construction," on March 29.

The lecture begins at 5 p.m. in the Joseph W. Bartunek III Moot Court Room of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, 1801 Euclid.

Music announces April concerts

CSU's Department of Music will present a series of concerts during April in the Cleveland State Music and Communications Building. All concerts are free and open to the public with parking available in the garage on the corner of Chester Ave. and East 21st Street. Financial Services Day is Saturday

Financial Services Day will be held March 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodling Gymnasium. Students can find out about careers in the Financial Services industry and how to become a part of the field. Financial Services Day is presented in conjunction with the Career Services Center Spring Career Fair.

Katz to speak

The Arts and Sciences Center for Poverty Studies will present Dr. Michael Katz, from the University of Pennsylvania, lecturing on "Redefining America's Welfare State," on March 29 from 4 to 5 p.m. The lecture will be held in the MC Auditorium.
