Cleveland-Marshall ranked nationally as 31st most affordable law school

Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law received national recognition in a report by Student Loan Hero ranking it 31st as one of the most affordable law schools in the United States.

The study surveyed 116 law schools, pulling data from U.S. News & World Report college rankings and employment data from the National Association for Law Placement (NALP).

Student Loan Hero broke down the “methodology” used by ranking colleges on four factors. The first factor was the ratio of the average post-law school starting salary (from the NALP report) to the average indebtedness (from the U.S. News & World Report weighted at half).

The second factor was the annual in-state tuition weighted at one-sixth (sourced from U.S. News).

The last two were the percentage of graduates leaving law school with student debt weighted at one-sixth (U.S. news) and the employment rates of recent law school graduates weighted at one-sixth (NAPL).

“We are extremely honored to be included in this ranking,” said Lee Fisher, dean of the law school “We are proud to be a law school of both quality and opportunity. We are committed to providing excellent legal training at a reasonable expense, and feature numerous initiatives that help students reduce costs and ensure that they are career ready upon graduation.”
