Women's golf team competes at Ball State Cardinal Classic

On Sept. 21 and 22, the Cleveland State University women’s golf team competed in the Ball State Cardinal Classic in Muncie, Ind. at the Players Club golf course.

The team played 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. The girls finished 12th out of 16 teams after 54 holes of play, and after three rounds of 320, 311 and 312, they ended 943.

Sophomore Sophie Kelner led the team, tying for 38th place out of 86.

She finished her three rounds with a total score of 233 and 17 over par. Kelner currently holds the record for lowest round in Cleveland State women’s golf history, with a score of 68 — 4 under par.

Overall, the Vikings finished second out of three conference teams that competed in the tournament.
Their next tournament is the Toledo Rocket Classic at the Catawba Island Club on Oct. 5 and the 6.
