A Burning Issue

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13, Cleveland State Police arrested a 45-year-old male near the intersection of East 17th Street and Chester Avenue for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was observed carrying a glass tube, approximately 3.5 inches in length, with visible burn marks on the end. In addition to the pending possession charges, the individual was taken into police custody for a contempt of court warrant issued by the City of Cleveland.

Dent and Run

A motor vehicle accident resulting in $3,000 worth of damage occurred on Saturday, March 7 in the East Garage at 2506 Chester Ave. The incident, which involved a brown 2013 Ford Explorer, was reported to police on Friday, March 13. The car’s owner said that both the passenger side front and rear doors of his SUV had sustained two dents, approximately four inches wide and uniformly spaced 24 inches apart. As of the time of the report, the victim did not wish to prosecute.

Good As Gold

A 43-year-old male was arrested for aggravated robbery at the Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches restaurant located at 1938 Euclid Ave., across from the Cleveland State campus. The victim, a 21-year-old female, reported on March 15 that the suspect stole a single 2.125-ounce bag of Crunchy and Salty BBQ Jimmy Chips that had been in her possession. She plans to press charges against the individual, who is now in police custody.
