CSU Police HQCampus Crimes Blotter

By Abbey White

False Alarms

Campus police were called to Mather Mansion on Tuesday, April 14 after a second floor room’s beam smoke detector was activated by construction crews working in the building. The event, which took place at 1:15 p.m., was not the first of its kind. Officers had been previously called to site at 2605 Euclid Ave. for alarms accidentally activated by the same crew.

A 22-year-old Cleveland State music major reported on April 14 that several of his items had been stolen from the Music and Communication building on April 10. The items included a white music baton 14 inches in length and a white wire bound score. Together the items were valued at $20. The victim does not want to prosecute.

Backdoor Graffiti

Another instance of hate-motivated graffiti in the Main Classroom was reported to the Cleveland State campus police Monday, April 13. An 18-year-old male student noticed the graffiti on the wall of the fourth floor northeast stairwell. The content related to race and sexual orientation. The case is currently closed.
