Tight match slips away

By Gabriel Hart

Hoodies, jackets and scarves were the main ensemble around the field as family, friends, and fans gathered throughout the bleachers to watch the men’s soccer game.
The fact that it was cold out didn’t stop people from coming to Sunday’s game to cheer on the Vikings.

Zach Ellis-HaydenAfter an amazing battle of footwork, balls being head butted across the field it was safe to say that both teams were playing their hearts out with great defense.
The Vikings were tied with Buffalo at a score of 0-0 with 28 minutes already played.
One fan standing near the cement guardrail said with a look of astonishment “Zero to Zero still! We might be going into some overtime here soon.”

It was a back and forth kind of game with no points drawn until Buffalo scored on a penalty kick with 83:26 already having passed. This brought the score to 0-1 Buffalo.
The Vikings could have tied the score while there were 4 seconds left on the clock and the Vikings forward Alfonso Sandoval was very close to doing so but his goal was blocked and the clock ran down.

The Vikings will play again at Krenzler Field, where they’ll face off with Oakland Sept.28th at 7:30 p.m.
