Viking Spotlight Alyson Broschk

By Aaron Cutteridge

Criminology major Alyson Broschk is a core component of the Cleveland State University women’s softball team.

Broschk, a sophomore, recently earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors for the performance she notched the week of April 14-20.

Broschk has posted a .478 batting average with six runs, five doubles, two home runs and nine runs-batted-in over the past eight games for the Vikings.

“I’ve been more selective at the plate,” Broschk said.

Hailing from Keystone High School, Broschk is no stranger to winning as her high school team took home four county championships and won the Ohio High School State Championships in her senior year.

“Last season left us with a bitter ending,” Broschk said, looking to the championships, “We’re looking to win it this year.”
