S-1 lot is site of thefts

On May 23, a student parked in the S-1 lot and returned at 2:55 to find a GPS, an iPod Touch and cash missing, according to police. The items were in plain sight in the car. On June 2, a student parked in S-1 at 9 a.m. and returned at 11 p.m. to find the passenger window had been broken. A book bag containing text books and $30 had been stolen, according to the student.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Sandusky on May 24 after individuals were spotted removing scrap from a dumpster near the Rhodes Tower loading dock. Police responded as a white, four-door vehicle was leaving the scene. A passenger was arrested, and the driver was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license.

Objects were much closer than they appeared

The driver of a beverage truck reported on May 26 that the rearview mirrors on both sides of the truck were severely scratched. The truck had been parked at the Rhodes Tower loading dock. The driver discovered the scratches at 2:30 p.m.

According to police reports, three men entered a hole in the fence at Wallingford Coffee, 2504 Payne Ave., on May 28 with the intention of drinking alcohol. Police responded and arrested one of the individuals on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court in Lakewood.

Cut in transmission

A report came in on June 1 that a video camera was not working in Drinko Hall. It was discovered that the motor mount on the camera was broken and video cables had been removed.

Gate crashers denied

On June 4, two non-CSU affiliated pedestrians were struck by a gate marked “cars only” in the East Garage as it lowered, according to reports. The gate struck one of the pedestrians in the head, and the other in the right hand. The pedestrian struck in the head was taken to St. Vincent Charity Hospital.
