Campus area offers a variety of hangouts Cleveland State University's downtown location offers students, faculty and staff a large selection of restaurants.
Arby's offers fast service and sit-down dining. Arby's, on the corner of Euclid & East 21st, serves breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 and lunch/dinner from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Arby's is open Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Sunday. Patrons can choose between breakfast sandwiches for $1.79 each or french toastix for $1.55. The lunch/dinner menu offers eight combo meals varying from $4.19 to $5.19, and combos include choice of medium homestyle or curly fries and a medium soft drink. Arby's also offers two sandwiches for those conscious of their calorie intake. The roast turkey deluxe for $2.39 and the roast chicken deluxe for $2.49 each with less than 300 calories. About half of Arby's customers are CSU students, according to District Manager Bill Ulrich with Tuesday and Wednesday being the busiest. Mr. Hero, located at 1818 Euclid Avenue, serves lunch/dinner from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and is closed on Sunday. The dining room closes at 7 p.m. The lunch/dinner menu varies in price depending upon the size of the sandwich. The hot sub prices range from $2.49 for a seven-inch gyro combo, to $6.29 for a 14-inch choice of a romanburger combo, grilled chicken combo or a country chicken combo. The deli subs also range in price based on size of sandwich. Mr. Hero has a clientele of about 75percent CSU students and offers a 15 percent discount for all students, faculty and staff. JoEllen Schobel, manager, said that new coupons will circulate within the next four weeks. Rascal House Pizza, located at 2064 Euclid Ave., serves lunch/dinner from 7 to 2:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday. Luncheon combos are served from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The menu features a wide selection of specialty pizzas and various "munchies" including garlic sesame bread sticks, wings, "subs & wrappers," salads and pasta. Prices range from $1.79 and up. Luncheon combo prices range from $3.29 to $4.79 and include a medium soft drink. Rascal House Pizza serves 200 - 300 students a day. They offers free delivery and a 5percent discount with the Reward Club card. A coupon book, with monthly coupons, was distributed at the beginning of the semester. The Foundry Bar, located behind Rascal House, is open from 10:30 to 2 a.m. Monday through Sunday.
The Foundry bartender is getting ready for a busy night. They serve appetizers, including grilled steak- on-a stick, wings, homemade potato coils and bruschetta. Appetizer prices start at $3.95 . The lunch/dinner menu offers burgers, salads and Rascal House pizza by the slice. Foundry lunch/dinner prices range from $2.00 to $9.95. The Foundry Bar offers a selection of various bottled and draft beers, local microbeers, specialty martinis, single malt and rare scotches, wines, champagne and cognac. They also have a cigar menu with 14 different cigars from the Dominican Republic and Honduras. The Foundry Bar serves about 50 students daily and some faculty. They plan to implement a college ID night beginning the first week in October which will offer specials on beers. Becky's, located at 1762 East 18th Street, is open from 11:30 to 2:30 a.m., Monday through Friday and on Sundays during Browns season until 2:30 a.m. They serve appetizers such as soup and chicken fingers, ranging in price from $1.65 to $4.50. The lunch/dinner menu offers burgers, sandwiches and salads ranging from $1.50 for an all beef hot dog to $5.75 for a grilled chicken salad. Becky's offers weekly specials and welcomes carryout orders. The Mardi Gras Lounge and Grill, located at 1423 East 21st, is open from 11 to 2 a.m., Monday through Wednesday, from 11 to 4 a.m., Thursday through Saturday, and closed Sunday. The Mardi Gras breakfast menu includes eggs and omelettes, appetizers, salads and entrees and all ranging in prices from $4.95 for a salad to $24.95 for a T-bone steak. Breakfast is served from 1 to 4 a.m. Lunch, served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offers hot, pita, sub and specialty sandwiches, appetizers, salads, pizza, entrees, and Grecian specialties. Prices range from $1.95 for soup, to $13.95 for a large deluxe pizza. The Mardi Gras serves dinner from 3 p.m. until close. Their dinner menu varies from classic Athenian appetizers, salads, appetizers, specialty sandwiches, Creole specialties and Grecian specialties. Prices range from $3.95 for a salad to $24.95 for a T- The Superior Deli, located at 3000 Superior Ave. is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. They serve a variety of breakfast combos ranging from $2.25 to $4.25. The lunch menu offers hot and cold sandwiches from $4.50 to $6.75. The Superior Deli specializes in corn beef sandwiches ranging from $5.50 to $5.75. The New Best Steak & Gyros, located at 1910 Euclid Avenue, is open 24 hours.

The dinner menu, ranging from $4.99 to $15.99, includes steaks, chicken, fish and shrimp. Dinner specials range from $19.99 to $29.99.
