Starting Point is Northeast Ohio’s child care, early education and out-of-school time resource and referral agency; serving families, youth, professionals and the community. Starting Point links families to programs and services that meet their children’s early care/education and related needs, and strengthens to community’s capacity to respond to those needs.
Education and Outreach
Starting Point is the lead agency in the MyCom network focused on out-of-school time activities. Starting Point promotes youth access to fun, safe and inexpensive programs and activities beyond the school day. These activities are divers and my include athletics, visual and performing arts, character education, college access, service-learning, life skills, social support, career exploration and tutoring.
Starting Point develops the repository of information for out-of-school time services and activities for youth, identifies gaps and barriers to services, provides technical assistance and professional development to organizations to increase the quality of programs in our community, and expands services through the management of funded Out-of-School Time Expanded Learning Opportunities programs serving youth K – 12.
