Student Organization of Fine Arts: SOFA

Students are encouraged to join and participate in activities of the Student Organization of Fine Arts (SOFA) and the student chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). Ask in the department office for scheduled meetings and look for postings in the Art Building.

American Institute of Graphic Arts: AIGA

AIGA encourages the formation of student groups at colleges and universities and is committed to developing these groups as a way of encouraging students to take the first step in demonstrating a commitment to their professional interest and assisting them in understanding the profession.

Students are encouraged to join and participate in activities of the Cleveland State University student chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month (during Fall & Spring semesters) From 12-1pm in AB 208. For more information about becoming a student member contact Jennifer Visocky O‘Grady.

Merit Scholarship

Over $20,000 in tuition scholarships is generally awarded each year. Art Merit Scholarships are offered exclusively to Art Majors for full or partial tuition. Scholarship awards are based on the quality of artwork submitted for review. Application forms are available at the Art Department Office. Application deadline typically occurs in late February or early March for awards that are issued the following academic year. Merit scholarship students participate in two and three person exhibitions in Spring Semester as a condition of acceptance of their awards.
