The Arts Management certificate program is designed to serve students who either intend to: 1) seek employment as administrators of public arts agencies or not-for-profit performing, visual and literary arts organizations; 2) continue their academic studies at the masters level in preparation for teaching, research, and/or administrative roles in higher education, museums, and other educational and research- oriented institutions; or 3) become self-employed arts and arts education consultants to national, state, and local arts service organizations. The James J. Nance College of Business Administration, with the support of the College of College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, offers the certificate program in Arts Management. Admission and advising are provided jointly by the College of Business and the creative or performing arts department of the College of College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences that suits the field of the student.
The Graphic Design certificate program prepares students, with or without a baccalaureate degree in art, for the conception and production of two-dimensional graphic designs, with emphasis on the utilization of software for the Macintosh computer. The certificate program is an alternative to a traditional four-year art degree, for creative and self-motivated students who specifically want to develop their technical proficiency, aesthetic sensibility, and design expertise.
The Multi-Media Advertising certificate program is designed to provide college undergraduates and professionals with a practical, skill-oriented yet flexible and compact educational program on advertising principles, practices, computer graphics, and marketing communications. To ensure breadth and comprehensive coverage of advertising communications, marketing strategy, graphics, copywriting, and design issues, the Certificate Program has been conceived as an interdisciplinary program, sponsored by the Art Department and Communication Department of the College of College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the Marketing Department of the James J. Nance College of Business. Administration.
