Academic advising is a fundamental part of the CLASS and CSU undergraduate experience. CLASS advising is based on a developmental model that fosters a collaborative relationship between students and advisors.
The Advising Center provides advising assistance as it relates to university and college requirements (general education requirements). Faculty advisors, housed in the various CLASS departments, programs and schools, provide major field advising (requirements for a specific major).
Academic Advising begins with New Student Orientation and continues throughout every semester until graduation. Each student will be assigned to a CLASS general education advisor depending on area of interest (major). This assists both student and advisor as the advisor acts as a liaison between the student and the department housing their chosen major. Please note, however, ALL advisors in the CLASS Advising Center are cross-trained and can assist students in any of the CLASS majors.
Please make an appointment with your CLASS general education advisor prior to registering for classes.
