Admission Requirements for Undergraduate/Post Baccalaureate Students
- Meet with an Academic Advisor in Julka Hall 170, (216) 687-4625, to complete documentation for admission.
- Physical Education majors should contact the HPERD Office, (216) 687-4870, to schedule an appointment with a HPERD advisor.
- 2.50-or-higher cumulative GPA
- C-or-higher grade in college level mathematics (MTH 116 or higher)
- C-or-higher grade in freshman English (ENG 100 or ENG 101)
- 30 college credits
- Freshman and Transfer Students with an interest in teaching are admitted to CSU as “Pre-Education” students.
- Pre-Education students should meet with Academic Advisors in Julka Hall 170 to become familiar with program requirements and to select appropriate courses.
- When Pre-Education students satisfy all requirements, they should meet with an Academic Advisor to complete documentation for admission.
- Transfer and Post-Baccalaureate students who are admitted to CSU with previously earned cumulative undergraduate GPA’s below 2.50 are required to complete a minimum of 12 credits at CSU and to earn a 2.50-or-higher CSU cumulative GPA to qualify for admission to a CEHS program, to declare an Education major or minor, and to take any Professional Education courses (except EDB 200).

- Students must maintain a 2.50-or-higher CSU cumulative GPA for continuing enrollment in professional education coursework.
- 2.50-or-higher cumulative GPA
- 2.75-or-higher cumulative professional education GPA
- 2.50-or-higher major field/content area GPA for multi-age, middle school, and adolescent/young adult programs
- Only C-or-higher grades can be used to satisfy professional and major field/content area requirements.
- B-or-better Practicum grade is required to qualify for Student Teaching.
- Take all required Praxis II exams prior to student teaching
