Faculty in National Faculty Research Mentoring Program Accelerate Scholarship Development

  • Seven junior faculty in the program have made significant strides in scholarship and/or external grant submission. The goal of the program is to accelerate publication in top tier journals, obtaining book contracts, and submitting and receiving significant extramural funding through the mentoring of established scholars in the faculty's field. See the attached summary of what current faculty participants have achieved in a relatively short period of time in collaboration with their mentors. They have advanced their scholarship agenda more quickly and richly than if left solely to their own devices. Mentors at other universities have co published and co presented, shared their professional network and helped them focus on key elements of success. The College, CSU and the community we serve are the beneficiaries. The College's Sponsored Programs and Research Committee has recently chosen the following five faculty as 2007 inductees in the program: Hoe Kyeung Kim, Selma Vonderwell, Connie Wong, Justin Perry, and Patrick Wachira.
