Center For Educational Leadership

Recognizing a Talent for Leadership

The Center for Educational Leadership at Cleveland State University was established in February 2008 to develop and sustain inspired leaders for today’s schools. The Center creates and provides relevant and innovative leadership development and licensure programs for educators in the Cleveland Metropolitan area, the state of Ohio, and across the country. The Center aims to recruit and select educators who have the motivation and talent to make systemic change in their schools and organizations. Today’s schools present their leaders with challenges unlike those of the past. Students, families, and communities are experiencing dwindling resources, broken support systems, and general instability. Conditions such as these pose great risks to the learning success of school age children. The Center aims to become a destination place for cultivating inspired and competent school leaders as well as a resource for university faculty interests and research.

Developing and Sustaining Inspired Leaders

The Center for Educational Leadership seeks to capture the highest quality of energy, talent, and resources to build leadership capacity across the region and beyond. The Center offers the following alternative pathways to principal licensure and leadership development programs:
