Candidates for the TESOL endorsement must complete all of the TESOL Specialization courses and pass the Praxis II Specialty Test, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. This option is available only to individuals who already have a valid provisional, professional or permanent teaching certificate or license. All courses are cross-listed and can be taken at either undergraduate or graduate level.

The requirement for the TESOL Undergraduate endorsement includes the completion of the following courses:

• EDC 300 - Diversity in Educational Settings
• EDL 406 - Second Language Learning and Pedagogy
• EDL 407 - TESOL Methods and Materials
• EDL 408 - Applied Linguistics for Teachers
• EDL 409 - Assessment and Evaluation in the ESL/Bilingual Classroom
• EDL 410 - Pedagogical Grammar
• EST 473 - Practicum in TESOL
