The TESOL Certificate Program acquaints students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to teach English as a second or foreign language.

CSU offers both an Undergraduate and Graduate Certificate in TESOL.

• Graduate Certification is open to all qualified CSU graduate students.
• The Undergraduate Certification is open to all undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students.

The requirement for the Undergraduate certificate includes the completion of the following courses:

• EDL 406 - Second Language Learning and Pedagogy
• EDL 407 - TESOL Instructional Methods & Materials
• EDL 408 - Applied Linguistics for Teachers
• EDL 409 - Evaluation and Assessment in TESOL
• EDL 410 - Pedagogical Grammar
