Join us for this celebratory, educational event. Our two keynote speakers, Kay Toliver and Dr. Angela Calabrese Barton, will provide helpful insights and strategies for improving student achievement in urban schools. Our conference begins on Friday evening with a keynote address and dinner reception. Cleveland teachers and CSU faculty will facilitate break-out sessions and roundtable discussions on Saturday, spanning diverse topics such as: Standards-Based Instruction, Inclusion: Ramifications and Solutions, Classroom Management, Assessment that Works for You, Cultural Connections, and ESL. Please meet with your fellow teachers, student teachers and teacher educators to celebrate our mutual accomplishments as Quality Urban Educators and to continue to learn and grow together towards further excellence in our schools.

  • Poster sessions involve preparing a standard tri-fold poster display containing handouts, photos or other multimedia to illustrate a classroom practice, briefly presenting your poster (10-20 minutes) in a session with other thematically related posters, providing useful handouts and engaging in dialogue with audience members as they circulate among the posters.
