Department of Curriculum and Foundations

Curriculum and Instruction

Program Overview

This program provides the foundation for the areas of specialization and licensure in undergraduate and graduate programs offered in the College of Education and Human Services. Our courses engage pre-service and in-service teachers and other professionals exploring the teaching profession in the construction of knowledge related to curriculum design, systems of delivery, classroom management, and assessment of student learning. A combination of a field component and course-specific activities prepare pre-service teachers for successful classroom teaching in diverse educational settings. The graduate component of our program focuses on inquiry into curriculum theory and its applications to classroom practice.
