Sport Management

Eddie Lam
The Sport Management program provides the student with a strong background in both business and sport. Students leave Cleveland State University with knowledge and skills in sport mechanics, accounting, marketing, management, economics, physiology, and psychosocial aspects of sport and physical activity.
In addition, students are exposed to a wide variety of sport, recreation and leisure activities that can be utilized for coaching, team building, adventure planning, sport tourism and research.
The curriculum is designed to expose students to the breadth and depth of Sport Management opportunities.
Beginning with their entry level professional course in the Foundations of Sport, Exercise and Physical Education, students are required to participate in building an ePortfolio. Using a variety of media, styles and strategies, the ePortfolio system allows students to demonstrate/showcase the competencies they have achieved by both traditional and non-traditional means.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Cleveland State University graduates with a major in Sport Management have been very successful in securing employment. Our graduates have excellent reputations and we are represented in both community and corporate health/fitness sites, YMCAs, recreation centers, professional sport organizations, and coaching positions throughout the region and the state.
