Cleveland State University’s award-winning MUST Program is the Master of Urban Secondary Teaching Program,
a nationally recognized 14-month intensive graduate program. This unique program focuses on urban teaching and social justice, culminating in a Master of Education degree and grade 7-12 Ohio teacher licensure in math, science, social studies, English/language arts, foreign language or art.

As a MUST Intern, you'll participate in this unique Master of Education program as part of a cohort of fellow graduate students/interns dedicated to becoming great teachers in urban schools. Listen to what our current MUST Interns have to say about our program:

Amy Justice

MUST Intern
Kelly V., 2011-12:

" The ability of this program to instill the utmost confidence in you to become the best teacher possible is amazing. I have grown closer to my cohort and advisors than I ever thought it possible. We are a family. You MUST be excited to join the MUST family. MUST or BUST!"

Amy Justice

MUST Intern
Matt D., 2011-12:

"Participating in the MUST program has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. If you want to learn how to teach, and not just that, but learn how to be an effective, energetic, and innovative teacher, then the MUST program is for you. The life skills you learn and the relationships you build are priceless."

Amy Justice

MUST Intern
Anita Z., 2011-12:

" The MUST program is definitely a life changing experience. You not only learn about how to become a great teacher, but you actually have a whole year to experience it! The Practicum experience will make you realize just what qualities a great teacher should have and what it means to educate today's urban youth."

MUST Intern
Gina L., 2011-12:

"MUST is the most amazing, life changing experience I have ever had. The unique experience is what makes it so exciting. The professors and other MUST Interns are people I will never forget. Not only have I obtained knowledge that will help me along the way in my teaching career, but I have also obtained some of the best friends of my life. My other MUST Cohort members are like family to me. I would not change my experience for anything in the world!"
