Cleveland State’s highly regarded, popular Train the Trainer program has been updated and renamed to reflect the needs of today’s learning professionals. Now offered through CSU’s Adult Learning and Development Program in the Department of Counseling, Administration, Supervision and Adult Learning (CASAL), this non-credit, professional development program will help you develop the knowledge you need for success in today’s training field. You’ll gain the skills and credentials you need to advance as a learning and development professional.

The Training and Development Certificate Program takes you through an overview of adult learning principles, the planning and design of effective training, and gives you a working knowledge of the evaluation process. You’ll also develop skills in needs assessment and analysis, and learn how to design and use training strategies and techniques. The program follows the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Content is aligned with the American Society for Training and Development’s (ASTD) Certified Professional in Learning and Performance Certification (CPLP) competencies.
