Center for Urban Education (CUE)
Welcome to the Center for Urban Education! It serves as the Research & Development Arm of the Campus International School, an innovative public school in CMSD that was established in partnership with Cleveland State University. Campus International opened in the Fall of 2010. The Center is located in Julka Hall, Rooms 397 and 365.
The Center serves as an institutional home for CSU faculty and students who conduct research and publish in fields of study and practice related to urban education. The Center carries out four key functions that embody its core mission and activities:
1. Serve as the Research & Development Arm of the Campus International School
2. Conduct and disseminate interdisciplinary research and best practices in urban education
3. Provide grant writing and administrative assistance in the pursuit of extra-mural funding
4. Incubate new programs in the preparation of urban teachers and related professionals who work in urban schools, or in connection with urban schools
Center for Urban Education launches the Campus International School Research Program. This initiative is designed to promote the goals of the Professional Development Task Force while supporting faculty research and student success.
Cleveland State University and Campus International forge a Professional Development Task Force (PDTF) to coordinate professional development activities and take their partnership to the next phase of transformation. The PDTF is composed of personnel from CSU, CIS, and the CMSD.
