Master Teacher - Rick Walton

Rick Walton
Mr. Walton earned his BS and teaching licensure in the Earth Sciences and Physical Geography at Bowling Green State University. He taught at the Strongsville High, Elyria High and Eastern Heights Junior High schools for over 31 years.
During this time he became director of the Oberlin College Summer Gifted program, for Lorain County students grades 6-9, Here he wrote inquiry-based curriculum for Astronomy, Physical Science, Orienteering & Cartography courses.
He taught and wrote curriculum for summer urban high and middle school students at risk in Biology, Earth, & Physical Sciences. He was the inclusion and Gifted Ed. Science teacher in his building. In 2006 he received the National Science Teachers Association & CIBA, Specialty Chemicals Education Foundations, Exemplary Science Teaching Award.
He currently holds a Masters in School Administration and holds a Building Principal License for grades 4-12 from Ashland University. In 2010 he joined the CSUTeach program as Master Teacher.
