Maureen LaFemina

Ms. LaFemina earned her BS in Mathematics and M.Ed at University of California, Los Angeles. She taught high school mathematics for six years, first in Los Angeles and then for Boston Public Schools.

Ms. LaFemina served as the AVID Site Coordinator and Math Department Team Leader as part of her work in Boston. As a classroom teacher, she has focused on students building critical thinking skills through higher order questioning, cooperative learning and classroom investigations. She feels remaining reflective about her teaching practice has been a crucial aspect of her success in the classroom, using data and classroom experience to modify instruction and accommodate all levels of learning.

She is the newest addition to the CSUTeach Faculty as Math Master Teacher. She currently teaches Step 1 at CSU.
