Community Learning Center for Children and Youth (CLC)
The Community Learning Center for Children and Youth (CLC) is a year-round instructional facility for College of Education and Human Services students. Through its staff of Cleveland State University faculty and students, the Center serves children, youth, and families from the greater Cleveland community. In a supervised educational setting, the Center instructs current and future educators by providing resources and services including assessment and tutoring in literacy and math to children and youth with and without disabilities. The Center also provides opportunities for faculty and students to engage in research.

The Community Learning Center has been very busy! Our volunteer program has expanded and is now helping area youth develop skills to pass the Ohio Graduation Test (administered to 10th graders every year in March) while also helping these youth with ACT and SAT study skill preparation. Recently, our new CLC logo was approved and are hoping to sponsor a Logo launch event soon! For the past 2 semesters we have hosted a Family Fun Night Event where we watch a family friendly movie and have dinner and snacks all in an effort to thank the families and CSU students for their participation with the CLC. We plan to make Family Fun Night an every semester event. We have also recently integrated technology into our tutoring programs with the use of Nook Tablets.
