The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program is a 60 semester-hour, CACREP approved program that meets the academic requirements for license as a Professional Counselor (PC) in the State of Ohio. The program offers a strong clinical base to students to work in a variety of mental health settings ranging from community based agencies with managed care and private practice to employee assistance programs. This program meets the clinical competencies outlined in the Ohio Counselor license law.
According to the American Mental Health Counseling Association (AMHCA):
"Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a distinct profession with national standards for education, training, and clinical practice. Clinical Mental Health Counselors are highly skilled professionals who provide flexible, consumer-oriented therapy.
