The mission of Campus International School is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, lifelong learners, who have the courage to act responsibly to make the world a better place.

A Message From the Principal

I'm privileged to be the Principal of the Campus International School and I'm pleased to introduce you to our school. Conceived as a professional development school by CSU President Dr. Ronald Berkman, and former CMSD CEO Eugene Sanders, CIS opened in August 2010 as a partnership between the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and Cleveland State University.

The school consists of eight grades – Kindergarten through 7th grade. Each year we will add a grade until we are a K-12 school. CIS is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme World School. We provide our students with an international education that addresses the social, physical, emotional, cultural and academic needs of its students. Starting in Kindergarten CIS students take Mandarin as a second language.

Our partnership with CSU provides us with instructional enrichment activities and academic services for our students. We encourage our students to be independent learners and we strive to know them as individuals. At CIS we are fortunate to have active parental involvement, and a knowledgeable, committed and caring staff.

We know that you have choices in selecting an elementary school for your child and we warmly welcome prospective parents. Our students are proud of their school and enjoy visitors. Feel free to contact me at if you have any questions regarding the school
