This conceptual framework was developed in response to a faculty desire for a clearly articulated knowledge base underpinning the teacher education program. Over a six month period in 1997 the MTV ("Making the Vision") Committee, composed of faculty, administrators, staff, students, and school professionals examined program outcomes, professional organization and state department standards, professional literature, and good practice. Copies of committee deliberations were distributed to the faculty, departmental level discussions were held, and a college wide feedback session was conducted.
