COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Spring 2008 Courses Open For Registration!
The Program is
built on the strong foundation of the Patient Advocate Core Competencies
that were defined by the SHCA 2000 Role Delineation Work Group.
Each individual course will focus on one of the competencies. These
include:
•
Bioethics
• Customer Service
• Legal Rights
• Interpersonal Communications
• Health Care Management
• Mediation and Conflict
Resolution
• Complaint Management
• Crisis Intervention
• Measuring Patient Satisfaction
• Data Management
Courses are provided entirely online, allowing
busy professionals the ability to fit them into their schedules. While
such course development is time consuming, CSU has committed to
releasing all courses within the next year and repeating all at regular
intervals based on demand. Participants will earn CEUs for each course.
In addition, approval will be obtained for various professional
disciplines as appropriate. Courses can be taken in any order and
continuing education credit will be issued at the completion of each
course. There is no commitment to take all modules. Tuition must be paid
in U.S. Dollars. When all courses have been successfully completed, a
special certificate will be issued documenting successful completion of
the Patient Advocacy Certificate Program.
