The Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy is a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association This exciting collaboration was first announced during Patient Advocacy Week of 2004. This venture is the result of efforts by SHCA members to promote the role of Patient Advocates and advance and disseminate SHCA Professional Standards. The value and importance of these goals was recognized by CSU, who has committed to develop and provide the program. SHCA has been an active partner in this process and has appointed leaders from their membership to serve on the Advisory Board of the Patient Advocacy Certificate Program (PACP).
