The fee for GMAT, GRE, and LSAT Test Prep is $495, including materials.  All classes meet for four consecutive Saturdays, from 9 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., with lunch on your own.  Classes are held at the CSU Cole Center unless noted differently.  Call (216) 687-2144 for a brochure with further details.

Preparing for the LSAT

LSAT Exam Topics

• Reading Comprehension
  This section examines basic reading comprehension abilities. Our instructor offers techniques in question spotting, sorting out alternatives, and marking a passage. Sample passages and questions in our materials help you determine appropriate pacing for this section.
  
• Analytical Reasoning
  This section evaluates your ability to understand the structure of relationships and to draw conclusions about the structure. The instructor will use problem-solving aids such as imagery and diagrams to assist you with this.
  
• Logical Reasoning
  This section tests your aptitude for understanding and criticizing a variety of arguments. Our course materials are designed to help you develop a critical eye, refining your ability to critically analyze and evaluate arguments.
  
• Writing Sample Exercises
  This section requires you to do a writing sample exercise. Our course offers you an opportunity to have your writing samples expertly evaluated and personally critiqued by the instructor.

Preparing for the GMAT

GMAT Exam Topics:

• Reading Comprehension
  Questions based on difficult reading passages in social science, physical and biological sciences and the humanities comprise this section. Our instructor presents ideas on how to improve your comprehension and efficiency through a series of reading and thinking activities.
  
• Grammar/Sentence Correction
  This writing section tests your ability to recognize basic conventions of standard written English. Our instructor teaches you how to quickly analyze sentences, examine their components and spot any errors. Materials include a skeletal outline of rules of grammar to use as a guide for review.
  
• Critical Reasoning
  This section is designed to test the reasoning skills involved in making arguments, evaluating arguments, and formulating a plan of action. The instructor will help you understand these areas and review techniques of measurement.
  
• Math (Discrete Quantitative)
  This section tests your ability to manipulate numbers and solve word problems using arithmetic, basic algebra and geometry. Our instructor helps you to review basic principles of math and various math formulas.
  
• Math (Data Sufficiency)
  This section tests your ability to analyze a problem, recognize relevant information and determine if sufficient information is given. In-depth analysis will help you in understanding this section.

Preparing for the GRE

GRE Exam Topics:

  These sections measure your ability to reason with words in solving problems. The instructor will help you increase your effective reasoning skills by showing you how to analyze meanings and relationships among words or groups of words and within larger reading passages. You learn helpful strategies for using grammatical clues, looking for logical sequences and dealing with longer reading passages.

• Analytical Writing Ability
  • communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively through the elements of standard written English
  • examine claims and accompanying evidence
  • support ideas with relevant reasons and examples
  • sustain a well-focused, coherent discussion
  
  This section consists of two analytical writing tasks: “Present Your Perspective on an Issue” and “Analyze an Argument.” Complementary in nature, the first requires one to construct a personal argument about an issue, and the second requires one to critique someone else’s argument by evaluating its claims. Holistic scoring emphasis will be placed on critical thinking and analytical writing skills rather than on grammar and mechanics.

  These sections are designed to measure basic skills in mathematics.
