Flowers for the Landscape

Learn how to select, plant, and care for flowers

You’ll be able to select and properly care for herbaceous perennials, bulbs, ornamental grasses, herbs, and annuals. Topics such as fertilization, winter protection, when to cut back, divide and deadhead flowers are included in this seven week course. You’ll also get many tips on selecting proper plants for all soil types.

Prerequisites: Basic gardening knowledge & skills.

You'll learn to:

1) Identify common annuals, perennials, and herbs
2) Identify common roses and wild flowers
3) Illustrate typical flower and garden designs
4) Discuss propagation and bulbs
5) Describe typical site preparation and follow-up care
