Nursing 2010: A Refresher Course

Prepare for your return to active nursing

Designed for inactive nurses who wish to update their knowledge in preparation for returning to employment. Eleven day long classroom sessions cover medical-surgical nursing skills, decision-making, updates in nursing of patients with respiratory, cardiovascular, renal and neurologic diseases, as well as nursing management of patients with diabetes, GI and orthopedics problems and elderly patients. You’ll learn about new pharmacological interventions and the Ohio Law and Rules pertaining to nursing practice.

Opportunities for optional laboratory/simulation experience will be available. Scheduling, locations and applicable lab fee/supplies will be discussed on the first day of class.

A limited number of clinical experiences may be available for nurses with active Ohio RN or LPN licenses only. Locations, schedules and availability are subject to change and placement is at the discretion of participating clinical sites. Enrollment in the Nursing Refresher class does not guarantee placement for a clinical experience.

To participate in a clinical experience, additional requirements will include, at minimum: verification of active license, signed medical waiver (form provided by CSU) and documentation, liability/malpractice insurance, and uniform (as required by the clinical site).

Tuesday afternoon, December 15 at 1:30 pm
Wednesday afternoon, January 13 at 1:30 pm
Thursday morning, February 4 at 10:30 am
