Virtual Clinical Skills

Want to practice clinical nursing skills in a fun, non-threatening way? Join us to explore interactive online resources and practice your skills under the guidance of a clinical nurse educator. You’ll refresh skills in physical assessment/ examination, reinforce your understanding of anatomy/physiology, and improve your ability to differentiate normal from abnormal heart and lung sounds. We’ll even interpret EKGs using mouse-controlled calipers and perform calculations using simulated IV pumps. Critical thinking and decision-making skills will be honed using interactive case studies and discussion. Great for the nurse returning to patient care or for nurse educators looking for new tools to engage students.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss concepts related to anatomy and physiology
  • Demonstrate physical assessment skills on a virtual patientIdentify normal and abnormal heart and lung sounds
  • Demonstrate use of a virtual IV pump
  • Interpret EKG strips
  • Apply the nursing process to realistic virtual patient care scenarios
