LEED GA Intensive Test Prep

What is LEED?

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized certification system that measures how well a building or community performs across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. We have partnered with CleanEdison to bring LEED certification prep to Northeast Ohio.

Why become a LEED Green Associate?

The Green Associates (GA) accreditation is new to LEED. LEED GA is designed for anyone interested in pursuing a career in fields related to the green building industry who do not necessarily participate in design and construction work.

  1. LEED GA is a prerequisite for other LEED specialty exams
  2. Will make you more marketable to potential employers and clients, as it will confirm your general understanding of LEED concepts and sustainable building practices
  3. LEED GA enables project teams to deliver certified performance for their buildings
  4. An organization’s participation in the voluntary and technically rigorous LEED process demonstrates leadership, innovation and environmental stewardship

Course Description

Our one-day intensive course covers everything you would need to know to pass the GA exam, including a review of all LEED rating systems, a review of Green Building concepts such as vegetated roofs, rapidly renewable materials, on site renewable energy, low emitting materials, and other essential concepts. It also includes a complete discussion of what the US Green Building Council (USGBC) calls its core curriculum: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality.  Practice exams will be distributed but not administered.  You should have some experience in the building or home inspection field to participate in this intensive study course.
