What is podcasting and how do you do it? This three-hour class will have you creating a simple two-show podcast and the supporting file, posting it on your very own website and listening to it. You’ll also learn to use Audacity, a freeware program, to boost the quality of your podcast audio.  Audacity, is a very powerful tool and can help you create the audio files that do justice to your content.  Learn simple techniques that do the trick.  Don't be scared... using the technology is not nearly as challenging as you think. Come with lots of questions and leave with a lot of answers!

Prerequisites: Familiarity with computer operations, either Mac or PC, the Internet and a web browser.

You'll learn to:

1) Discuss the similarities and differences between standard web-based audio files and Podcasts
2) Identify software required to create, post and subscribe to Podcast episodes.
3) Record two sample audio files.
4) Put finishing touches on the audio files through basic editing techniques.
5) Create an XML script to enable listeners to subscribe to the Podcasts.
6) Observe the steps required to place the Podcasts files on a server.
7) Subscribe to a podcast using Apple iTunes.
