What's New in Excel 2007?

If you are new to Microsoft Office 2007 then this course will help you get off to a great start. This class is designed for the experienced Microsoft Excel user who is new to Excel 2007. Learn how to use the new features of the ribbon, office button, and quick access toolbar. Work with Excel’s enhanced conditional formatting, tables and charts. Excel 2007 provides a new Page Layout View. You can use this view to create a worksheet while keeping an eye on how it will look.

Who Should Attend:  Anyone upgrading to Microsoft Excel 2007.

By the end of the day, participants will be able to:

  • Use and understand the Excel 2007 user interface (Ribbon, Office Button, Quick Access Toolbar).
  • Work with the three parts of the Ribbon, which are tabs, groups, and commands. Also, use dialog box launchers to see more options for a group.
  • Understand that certain tabs appear only when needed, such as Picture Tools and Chart Tools.
  • Customize the quick access toolbar with your favorite commands.
  • Use new keyboard shortcuts to access the ribbon and every command on it.
  • Work in Excel 2007’s new Page Layout view to add headers and footers.
  • Use the Office button for common commands such as new, open, save, and print.
  • Work with new and improved features of Excel 2007, conditional formatting, enhanced charting and tables.
  • Understand the new file format (.xlsx) and working in “compatibility mode”.

Prerequisites: Experience using a previous version of Microsoft Excel.
