Learn the ins and outs of the care and feeding of your desktop computer. This
course covers all the basic skills and concepts needed to use a Microsoft
Windows XP based computer. You’ll learn the concepts of drives, directories,
files and folders, as well as all the skills you need to get help and support,
browse the Internet, create text documents and
customize your workstation.
Prerequisite: None
You'll learn to:
1) Identify and open objects on the Windows desktop.
2) Use the Windows XP Help and Support Center.
3) Navigate the folder hierarchy and search for files using My Computer Windows Explorer.
4) Manage files and folders and work with the Recycle Bin.
5) Create simple word processing documents and drawings by using the WordPad and Paint accessories.
6) Customize the desktop by creating desktop shortcuts and using the Control Panel.
7) Browse the Internet by using Internet Explorer.
