Mr. Shepard has been employed by CSU since 1980 and has taught Continuing Education classes since 1982. As the Director of Application Development in the Information Services and Technology Department, Mr. Shepard is responsible for all enterprise applications in the Business/Finance, Human Resource/Payroll and Administrative Services areas. He is responsible for both PeopleSoft and non-PeopleSoft applications and has worked with all levels of computers including Personal Computers, Servers, and Mainframes. In total, he has 35 years of professional IT experience and has taught a variety of CE classes.
He received his education at Lorain County Community College, Kent State University and Cleveland State University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from CSU and holds the Certified Data Processor certification (C.D.P.) granted by the Institute for Certification of Computer Professionals. In addition to his teaching experience at CSU, he has taught classes for Society National Bank, University Hospitals of Cleveland, the Lorain Fire Department, the Lorain City Schools and Cuyahoga Community College.
Over the years, his students have considered him patient, well-prepared, knowledgeable, and able to simplify the complex world of Personal Computers. His abilities were put to the test when he was asked by CSU to teach the lead course in a series of courses offered to Lucent Technologies. He was also asked to teach one-on-one classes to an Ohio State Senator and the then Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cleveland State University.
