Amy L. Govoni, MSN, RN, RKM

Amy L. Govoni, MSN, RN, RKM has worked in acute care, rehabilitation nursing, psychiatric outpatient/inpatient/home care nursing, and private practice.   For 26 years she was a psychiatric/mental health specialist, working as a clinical nurse specialist at MetroHealth Medical Center for 14 of those years.

For the last thirteen years, she has been a faculty member in the Cleveland State University School of Nursing.  During that time, she has practiced and taught a variety of nursing and mental health interventions for clients, families, groups, staff and communities.  Amy has presented widely at professional conferences and is finishing a RO1 NINR/NIH grant that was web based, dealing with caregivers who take home their loved ones who have had a stroke.

She became interested in additional modalities and has practiced and become a Reiki Master.  Her practice has included senior citizens at a community health center, other faculty, friends and family.   She believes that Reiki is a perfect marriage of nursing and complimentary health care-- nursing is a laying on of hands in so many ways and so is Reiki!
