Q. Who is eligible to use the services at the Cleveland State
University Career Services Center?
A. CSU students enrolled either full or part time in a degree program
and alumni who have graduated in the past twelve months.
Q. Are there fees to use your services?
A. There are no fees for current students and those who have graduated less than a year ago. For alumni who have graduated more than twelve months ago, there
is a $30.00 annual fee. For non-CSU students or alumni, there is a $55.00
annual fee.
Q. How do I locate part-time or summer jobs?
A. Summer and part time jobs are posted on several job boards around
campus including in the lobby of Rhodes Tower West and in the lower
level of University Center.
Q. Do you have resources for finding an internship?
A. Register with the Career Services Center to gain access to CSUcareerline.com,
our web site that lists local internships, part-time and full-time opportunities. Also, the Career Services Center belongs to Clevelandintern.net, a consortium which allows you to view internships from other universities. Make an appointment with a Career
Services coordinator to discuss your options by calling 216-687-2233.
Q. How do I get credit for my internship?
A. Each academic department has its own crediting procedure for internships.
Q. I don’t know what I want to do in terms of a career.
Can you help me?
A. There are several resources for undecided students. You can take
a course called CSC 121 Career Orientation
(one credit) or the CSC 224 Career Exploration (three credits) course.
In these classes students use various self assessment tools and exercises
to learn about themselves and careers that match their interests and
abilities.
Q. Are there tests I can take to help me decide on a major?
A. Yes. We use the Choices Planner online
assessment tool, and we offer the Myers Briggs Personality Type
Indicator, which you may take by making an appointment with a Career
Services coordinator. The CSU Counseling Center also offers testing that
may be helpful.
Q. How do I find out what jobs connect with my major?
A. Visit the "Choosing A Career" section of the Career Services Center web site
that will give you some ideas.
Q. How can the Career Services Center help me find a career
position during my senior year or after graduation?
A. Job Fairs- two major job fairs are set up each year for
networking. Click here for this year's dates.
Job Vacancy Listings- Binders in the CSU Career Services Center's
career library contain numerous up-dated job leads for many occupations.
Resume Referral System- Post your resume on-line so potential
employers can view/print it. This service is available only to enrolled
students and registered alumni. You must register with Career Services
to do this.
On Campus Recruiting Program- More than 100 employers visit
CSU annually to interview students from a variety of majors. The On
Campus Recruiting Program is coordinated through a web-based system
and protected by user names and passwords. You will need to register
and attend an On Campus Recruiting Workshop to utilize this program.
Q. How can the CSU Career Services Center help me with graduate
school?
A. You can pick up a copy of a graduate school guide in our office in
RW 280. Be sure to check the Cleveland State University's College of Graduate Studies

A. The quarterly salary survey developed by the National Association
of Colleges and Employers (NACE) is available in the Career Resource
Library at the CSU Career Services Center. More information is
