A Message From the Principal

I'm privileged to be the Principal of the Campus International School and I'm pleased to introduce you to our school. Conceived as a professional development school by CSU President Dr. Ronald Berkman, CIS opened in August 2010 as a partnership between the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and Cleveland State University.

The school consists of six grades – Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each year we will add a grade until we are a K-12 school. CIS is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme candidate. We provide our students with an international education that addresses the social, physical, emotional, cultural and academic needs of its students. Starting in Kindergarten CIS students take Mandarin as a second language.

Our partnership with CSU provides us with instructional enrichment activities and academic services for our students. We encourage our students to be independent learners and we strive to know them as individuals. At CIS we are fortunate to have active parental involvement, and a knowledgeable, committed and caring staff.

We know that you have choices in selecting an elementary school for your child and we warmly welcome prospective parents. Our students are proud of their school and enjoy visitors. Feel free to contact me at Julie.A.Beers@cmsdnet.net if you have any questions regarding the school

What's New?

South Campus
Two Campuses

With the addition of 6th grade we have outgrown the space available at the Cole Center.  To accommodate our students, CIS will occupy two sites.  Kindergarten through 4th grade will remain at the CSU Cole Center (North Campus) at 3100 Chester Avenue. The 5th and 6th grades will move back to the former site (South Campus) at 3000 Euclid Avenue.
