On Tuesday, February 11, 2014, three Parker Hannifin Corporation representatives (Cindy Krajcirik, Supply Chain Analyst; Melissa McLaughlin, Process Improvement Coordinator; and Kim Szalay, Export Sales Correspondent) presented information to approximately 30 Cleveland State University students in the Operation and Supply Chain Management field who are seeking an internship or full-time employment. Ms. Krajcirik shared that Parker is a large, diverse corporation with over 58,000 employees and generates over $ 13 billion in annual revenue. Parker is currently seeking to fill two Supply Chain Intern positions, and the interns will later become the top candidates in a program at Parker which leads to full-time employment.
Ms. Krajcirik later emphasized two important points to the CSU audience: (1) Internships are really important … We definitely look at internships. (2) If you want to move up the ladder, you will have to relocate. Cindy stated that once accepted into the Parker Program, the employee will work at three different divisions for two months each. Upon completion of the six month program, the employee will have the opportunity to accept an offer at one of the divisions. Kim Szalay later shared with the audience information pertaining to Parker's long-term goals and strategies. The recruitment event concluded with all interested students being interviewed by Cindy, Melissa, or Kim. The Parker Hannifin recruiters stated that they have always been pleased with interns and employees from CSU.
The Parker Hannifin Corporation recruitment event was sponsored by the OSM Dept. at CSU.
